Marián Santiago Martínez obtained her BA in English Language and Literature, specialising in Linguistics, at the University of Vigo in 2008. In 2011, she was admitted to the Ph.D Programme English Studies: Current Trends and Applications at the University of Santiago. She is currently working on her thesis on modality in the interlanguage of Spanish students learning English under the supervision of Dr. Ignacio Palacios Martínez.
