Isabel Balteiro Fernández

Isabel Balteiro obtained her BA and MA in English Studies followed by a Ph.D with distinction at the University of Santiago de Compostela (Spain). She taught at the University of Granada for a short period and she is currently a Lecturer at the University of Alicante (Spain). Apart from several articles and book chapters concerning the study of English word-formation and lexis, she is also the author of two internationally relevant books, A Contribution to the Study of Conversion in English (Waxmann, 2007) and The Directionality of Conversion in English. A Dia-Synchronic Study (Peter Lang, 2007). She has been awarded the AEDEAN national prize “Leocadio Martín Mingorance” in 2007 and 2008 for each of the books mentioned. She has been the editor-in-chief of RAEI (Revista Alicantina de Estudios Ingleses) for seven years. Isabel is currently the Vice-Dean of Social and Linguistic Responsability and Equality of the Faculty of Arts in the University of Alicante.
